About this recipe
Delicious Feta Saganaki (or fried feta) from Vonken's wood-fired oven. A simple Greek oven dish for any season. This delicious vegetarian dish with a sweet undertone thanks to the honey and sweet pointed peppers can be served as a main course, or simply as a tasty side dish or starter.
Ingredients
- 1 block of feta cheese
- 100 g mixed olives
- 4 tablespoons honey
- 1 generous dash of olive oil
- 1 lemon
- 1 sweet pointed pepper
- 1 onion
- 400 g cherry tomatoes
- 2 cloves of garlic
- oregano or basil
Preparation
- Cut the feta into two equal parts and spread them in an oven dish with a generous dash of olive oil.
- In the meantime, light the Mini or Original. No need to go overboard. A moderate flame is sufficient for this dish.
- Dice the sweet pointed pepper and onion, and scatter them around the feta. Drizzle with lemon juice and a little olive oil.
- Arrange the cherry tomatoes and olives around the feta cheese.
- Pour the honey over the whole thing.
- Grind some fresh pepper over the dish, especially over the white feta surfaces. This will give you a beautiful and spicy whole. Season with some oregano or basil to taste.
- Bake in the Mini or Original at medium heat, at a temperature between 200 and 300 degrees for 15-20 minutes. The vegetables will be lightly crispy on the outside, but still deliciously juicy on the inside.
- Serve with some toasted bread, or go pure and enjoy this oven dish without bread.
