Delicious crunchy granola is easy (and much cheaper) to make yourself: just mix a few ingredients and roast them in your Vonken at a low temperature. Another great way to use the residual heat from your oven. Adjust the proportions and ingredients to taste to create your own signature granola mix! If you're using a regular or large oven, you can make a double batch right away.

Ingredients
- 180 g oatmeal
- 100 g nuts
- 25 g pumpkin seeds
- 25 g flaxseed
- 4 tbsp honey
- 3 tbsp melted coconut oil
- pinch of cinnamon
- pinch of sea salt
Preparation
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Feel free to be creative with the composition, but keep in mind the ratio of oil/sweetener to grains and seeds. Please note: it is best to add raisins to your granola afterwards, otherwise they will burn.
- Check the temperature of your oven. An exact temperature is not necessary; you can play around with residual heat between approximately 120 and max. 180°C.
- Take a fireproof oven dish or stainless steel tray and use baking paper to prevent sticking (+ this makes it easy to pour into an airtight storage jar when the granola is ready). Spread your mixture evenly in a single layer on the dish so that everything can roast nicely. Stirring is still necessary to ensure that all the oats, grains, and seeds are crispy on all sides.
- Place the dish in the oven and close the door. The hotter the oven is, the more often you should stir and turn the dish for an even result.
- At 180°C, it is best to check and stir every 5 minutes, and the granola should be ready after about 12 to 20 minutes. At 120°C, you can leave the granola in for 10 minutes at a time, and it may take 30 minutes or longer, but you will get a crispier and more even result. The message is to keep an eye on your granola at regular intervals.
- Are all the nuts and seeds evenly browned? Remove the dish from the oven and allow to cool before shaping the baking paper into a funnel to pour your delicious, fragrant granola into an airtight jar. It will keep for a month or even longer. Heavenly with some fresh yogurt and fruit, but be sure to try a tablespoon of granola with a scoop of (freshly churned) vanilla ice cream (take it from an ice cream lover).
