About this recipe
A delicious Spanish classic that serves as an appetizer before a meal, or simply as a tasty side dish for a cozy evening with friends or family. Pimientos De Padron originally come from Galicia in northern Spain, but nowadays you can find them in better supermarkets or specialty stores. A simple recipe for delicious roasted but not spicy green peppers with coarse salt. Enjoy them with a glass of white wine, sparkling apple juice, or Spanish Cerveza.
Ingredients
- 500 g green (non-spicy) peppers, such as "pimientos de padron." Available at better supermarkets or supermarkets that carry exotic products.
- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- coarse salt
Preparation
- Light the Vonken Original or Mini. It should burn well, just like you would bake pizzas.
- Take a stainless steel baking dish or a heat-resistant pan (without a non-stick coating). Allow it to heat up in the oven.
- Pour the olive oil into the pan and immediately add the green peppers. Shake briefly and place in the oven.
- The peppers will quickly start to crackle and change color. Depending on how intense your heat is, they will be ready after 3-4 minutes of shaking.
- Add some coarse salt, serve on a nice platter, and enjoy this delicious Spanish snack.
